Post Completion Services
The Project physical completion at site is not the contract closure. Contract closure includes the assessment of the project executed with the estimation of profit and loss incurred and delay attributes. This is where KEC specializes in and provide post completion services to their client that includes but not limited to:
Schedule Delay Analysis
Delays may occur any time on a project, even with all sincere efforts to control a project and complete on time. Delay means loss of profit and/ or risk of facing hefty liquidated damages. In absence of proper analysis and documentation, the contractor may lose grounds for delay claim and undermining the commercial outcome of the whole project, involving lengthy negotiations and juridical cases, though the delay is due to the sole responsibility of the other parties involved.
Assessing schedule delays and equitably allocating them to responsible parties and activities is one of the business foundations of KEC. KEC multi disciplinary experts deeply analyze the extensive project documentation to establish the cause-effect relationships of each party’s actions or inactions and the resulting delays that includes but are not limited to
o Selecting a Delay Analysis Method | o Perform Retrospective vs contemporaneous Analysis |
o Impact As-Planned Sch Analysis | o Collapsed As-Built Analysis |
o Time Impact / Window Analysis | o Delay on Critical and Non Critical Paths |
o Concurrent Delay Analysis | o Factors Affected the Schedule |
Quantum Damage Analysis
Quantum Damage means the damage / loss incurred during execution of the project. The comprehensive approach to damages, seeks to develop a supportable basis for damages derived from an analysis of problems caused by both parties, contractual risks, and actual man-hours and costs incurred.
In order to determine the most effective methodology for quantifying the damages, our consultants perform a thorough evaluation of the project, including reviews of contemporaneous project records, fact witness testimony, and key project cost and schedule data. Through this analysis, we then assess the proper cause-and-effect relationships for damage allocation that includes but are not limited to
o Study & Understanding of Damage | o Identification of Root Cause of Damage |
o Analysis by Discrete Pricing / Actual Cost Analysis | o Analysis by Contractual Rates |
o Analysis by Total Cost / Modified Total Cost | o Measured Mile Productivity Analysis |
o CPM schedule Delay Analysis for Extended Project Cost | o Quantification of Damage |
o Delay / Direct / Indirect Damages | o Change Orders and Time Extensions |
Claim Analysis
Claim is a request for a benefit for which the Claimant believes or contends he is entitled, but agreement has not been reached. Claim leads to wastage of money, time and efforts, especially due to unprofessional presentation of it. A claim must be presented in a professional manner with sufficient details including the basis, calculations and evidences in order to save time, cost and effort of the Claimant and Defendant.
